Machu Picchu was built in the 14th century and abandoned a mere 100 years later. Its existence was known only to local farmers for hundreds of years, until 1911 when American archaeologist Hiram Bingham reported on a ‘Lost City of the Inca’, writing that “Surprise followed surprise until there came the realization that we were in the midst of as wonderful ruins as any ever found in Peru”.
This trip will follow in the footsteps of pioneering 20th-century explorers. You will leave the bustling colonial town of Cuzco, wind up through quiet tracks in the shadows of the High Andes and reach the spectacular ruins of the ancient city of Machu Picchu. The 6-day Salkantay trek was named as one of the 25 Best Treks in the World by National Geographic Adventure Travel Magazine and takes the traveller through steamy rainforests, High Andean peaks and epic Peruvian landscapes.
Every step you take on your challenge to trek through the Andes to Machu Picchu will help children orphaned by AIDS to take the next step in their lives too. AIDS not only deprives millions of the poorest children of the love and protection of their parents, the vast majority are left to struggle alone, many with younger siblings to care for, in desperate poverty and with the discrimination and stigma that an HIV status brings.
The money you raise will help to feed, clothe and house the children in our care. It will also help to send them to school each day where they can learn the academic and vocational skills they need to lead fulfilling lives.
We believe every child orphaned by AIDS deserves our love and protection as well as a decent chance in life. If you believe that too, then please take on this challenge for us. We’d love to have your support and we’ll be with you every step of the way. I had Oxazepam, Nitrazepam, Temazepam, Zopiclone, Seroquel and now Ambien (https://www.philipsanimalgarden.com/ambien-zolpidem/). I’m now happy with the drug. I can sleep a maximum of 14 hours. I also take an additional 20 mg. Valium. I am now completely happy… I took half (I didn’t want to be so confused). I fall asleep very quickly and am not quite as confused as the days before.
